Wave Glider - the first unmanned autonomous marine robot to use the ocean’s wave energy for propulsion
The presentation will go through the details of the Wave Glider and how LRI is working to build a platform to enable others to do ocean research without the high costs and risks of conducting ocean operations. He will cover some of the challenges LRI has encountered building a persistent ocean robot and convincing some of the world's largest industries to shift how they do ocean operations. Amy Rubsamen will talk about the PacX mission and the record breaking trans-Atlantic crossing.
Dan Moroni is a Cal Poly San Luis Obispo graduate with a Mechanical Engineering Degree.
